Some stories don’t begin in one place — they travel.
For me, culture has always been something that moved. My parents, aunts, and uncles emigrated to Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom in the 1970s. They carried with them far more than what fit into a suitcase. They brought language, humour, music, food, resilience, and a way of being that quietly shaped the generations after them.
That culture didn’t stay behind. It adapted. It layered itself into new cities, accents, and rhythms. It lives with me now — alongside the places I was born, raised, and continue to move through.
This idea of duality — honouring where you come from while fully inhabiting where you are — is the foundation of Roots by GTees.
Culture, Without Explanation
Roots isn’t about nostalgia or looking back. It’s about culture as something living — worn daily, spoken casually, carried with confidence. It’s about identity without explanation.
Whether you’re in Toronto, London, New York, or somewhere in between, culture travels with you. It shows up in how you move through the world, what feels familiar, and what feels like home — even when you’re far from where the story began.
Roots by GTees was created for people who understand that feeling intuitively. For those who don’t need their culture translated or softened. For those who wear it with pride, ease, and intention.
More Than Apparel
At its core, Roots is about belonging — not to a single place, but to a shared experience of movement, adaptation, and legacy. Each piece is designed to feel grounded yet modern, familiar yet forward-looking.
This isn’t a seasonal collection or a moment in time. It’s an ongoing conversation about who we are, where we come from, and what we carry with us.
If this story resonates, I invite you to explore the Roots collection — a small expression of culture in motion, designed to be worn wherever life takes you.
